Recommended for tourism: Notting Hill.

Notting Hill is one of London's most attractive territories. You can discover everything from world-popular occasions and eateries to bleeding edge theaters in Notting Hill. Maybe you'll even meet a film star in a movement bookshop.
In my dream, I living in a colorful house in a place like Nottinghill.
If I had a choice I would take the one on the blue one! What about you?

You want to buy an outfit for a fancy dress or just something fun and different then this is the place to come find it. Antiques, clothing and unique stuff all in one road.
Also, some great places to eat and people to watch as you eat it. This place is funky and seriously fun!

I started at the Notting Hill Gate Tube Station and Pembridge Road.
If you loved the movie, then stop on the corner and look across the street in the other direction of the tube station and you will see the "Coronet".
Lots of faux Notting Hill shops (especially travel bookstores) wait for Portobello Road for the real ones. We recommend stopping Unico Italian Delicacies on the way, they have great hot chocolate and pastries/gelato.
There are two very comfortable chairs in the front window so you can people watch for awhile.
Continue up Pembridge until you get to Portabello Road, you can only go left because the road begins here.
If you are thinking that road sounds familiar weren't there a song.
Unlike the other reviews below, we loved the neighborhood and didn't think it was too busy. Most of the shops close by 6 so try to go before then.
The Travel Bookshop from the movie is once again a Travel Bookshop (apparently it had become a shoe store for a while), there is a plaque on the wall of the building. It is at 13-15 Blenheim Crescent.
I thoroughly enjoyed the neighborhood and all of the various shops, when we were done we hopped a bus to Oxford Circus right down the street from the bookstore.
I recommend 2 hours to soak everything in and to stop for a hot chocolate or gelato based on the time of year.
